Field Sports Welcome
The Scottish
CSTG and VisitScotland are delighted to launch the new Field Sports Welcome
scheme. The scheme gives recognition to those accommodation providers that
offer a warm welcome to field sports enthusiasts and cater more closely for
their needs whilst staying.
Field sports
tourism is an increasingly popular activity within Scotland, generating more
than £350 million overall for Scottish tourism. The Field Sports Welcome
scheme gives guidance to the industry on the facilities and services that
can enhance the holiday experience for guests interested in this type of
activity.

As a group,
field sports enthusiasts often represent a higher spend per head per trip
than do other visitor profiles and the Scottish CSTG and Visit Scotland wish
to offer guidance through this scheme on how you can better attract this
market by way of some additional facilities and services offered to them.
A good
knowledge of what country sports are offered and/or are available in your
area is a good starting point and can help welcoming conversations develop
which undoubtedly add to the guest’s experience.
